Off By One Conference 2025 Experience
A bit of a late post, but I finally got to attend Off-By-One Conference 2025 by STAR Labs SG Pte. Ltd.! (My first time there after missing the first one :'D)

I met so many new amazing people, caught up with old friends, met some online friends IRL for the first time (including the legendary GOAT Jacob Soo!), had a blast solving a bunch of fun CTF challenges (which earned me the OffByOne badge), and getting impressed with the villages, especially the lockpicking one! I've tried a few lockpicking booths before, but this one stood out with detailed visual guides and a 3D model that helped me actually understand the mechanics and why certain techniques work.

As a blue teamer who is just starting to learn more red side of the stuff, I’m really glad I came. I learned a ton about Active Directory attacks (thanks to The Range Village, 🧣Cher Boon SIM, Lau Jun Yu (Sora) and Zavier Lee!), got to see how USB Ninja modules work, and how attack scripts can be deployed remotely using it (thanks to Captain Kelvin!).

The event was packed with talks and villages, and although I went there for 2 whole days, I actually didn't get to try a lot of stuff that I wanted like the Weighing Scale Hacking by Eugene Lim or the Crack-Me CTF by eShard 😭 (Because I was too busy doing CTFs the whole time, oops)

Not to mention! Hengyue Wang and I found the secret challenge on Day 1 but didn’t realize it was a secret challenge 😭 At least we solved it right when the conference ended, so our curiosity is satisfied HAHHAH

Of course, huge thanks to Quarkslab and Fred Raynal for sponsoring my ticket and making it possible for me to experience the conference in person 🙏

Already looking forward to the next Off-By-One Conference!
